Whether you are planning a renovation to your existing stairs and/or railings or starting from scratch, taking the proper steps to bringing your stair vision to life will save you time, money and headaches
As soon as you decide to renovate or build, please contact us via email at info@stairhaus.com. By starting the design process early, you leave ample time to coordinate with yourself, builders and planners. It is a lot easier to create your dream stairs and meet expectations if you reach out to us as soon as possible.
Quoting Process:
If you are completing a renovation, please include in your email any pictures of your current stairs and railings as well as any inspiration pictures. If you don’t have inspiration pictures, feel free to check out our Instagram @stairhaus_inc and website for ideas and include them in your email.
If it is a new build, kindly include floor plans and pictures you have found for your new set of stairs and/ or railings. You will also want to include the flooring type (wood or tile) including the type of wood.
For any project (renovation or a new build) including the location of the project and your timeline is of great importance. 
It is also important to note specific design interests in your email. The more information provided the easier it will be for us to execute.
Once we receive your email one of our dedicated team members will review your request, discuss with you and provide you with a budgetary estimate. If you would like to move forward with the project a deposit is required to secure a place in our installation queue. Once we have a deposit on file, we will schedule a time for an onsite measure to confirm our quote. Shop drawings or renderings will also be provided for your final review and approval. We will also provide you with a timeframe for installation and contact you in advance to ensure your project is still on track. Final payment is due upon completion of your installation.

Holiday- Labour Day

HOLIDAY HOURS- Labour Day

How is Summer over already? I know we can't believe it either but, HELLO SEPTEMBER!

We will be closed on Monday September 4th for the Labour Day Long Weekend, and will resume normal business hours Tuesday September 5th.

If you have any concerns or questions please send us an email or leave a voicemail and we will be happy to answer when we return Tuesday.

Just a friendly reminder if you are working on a renovation or a new build project, it is crucial to remember to plan ahead as we are booking a few months in advance.

HOLIDAY HOURS - VICTORIA DAY

We can not believe that it is already May! 2023 is just flying by!

We are not able to thank everyone enough for all the continued support throughout this year so far! Stairhaus will be closed on Monday May 22nd to allow our team to have a much deserved break through this busy time. We will return to the shop and office on Tuesday May 23rd for normal business hours. DESIGN FEATURE - OPEN RISE STAIRS

One design feature that has become quite a popular feature in recent years is Open Rise Stairs.

When these stairs are used in the right design aspect, the open rise stair can become a focal point that will bring attention to larger, open spaces. Open Rise stairs are a modern design element that contributes to a minimalist space.

The Open Rise stairs do meet Ontario Building Code. They are a great stair option that best suit open floor plans as it provides clear clean views of any space and allows for more light to flow in.

DESIGN FEATURE - STAIRS WITH LIGHTING

When it comes to a unique factor to customize your stairs and railings there are many different options!

In-stair lighting is an incredible way to improve not only the look of your stairs but the design impact they have. For the lighting to be in the stairs they are customly fabricated to allow LED lights to be inserted behind a stair tread, along a wall, or even added into the railing system. In-stair lighting requires custom measurements and custom drawn designs. It is important to keep that in mind when it comes to the start of the design and installation process! For this unique custom piece it is important to think about it early on!

INSTALLATION GUIDELINE AND TIPS

Starting a new build or a renovation project can be very daunting!

When first starting a new project there are many different aspects and components to consider. One of the most important factors to think about is planning ahead! This is important as it will ensure that there is plenty of time to meet each and every deadline that will pop up.

Knowing and considering how every aspect of how a project ties together is important to take into account. You will need to think about what flooring you are planning to use in your home as it will dictate which type of wood species would be best to use on the stairs and railings. With flooring in mind it is important to note that it is best to install the stairs, nosings, and railings prior to the installation of any flooring.

One last factor to consider is that specific stair openings and layouts will allow and accommodate different styles of stairs, railings, or glass based on the design. It is important to assess your project and what may be possible early on in the design process. This will ensure that changes can be made if necessary.

As the industry continues to increasingly get busier each and every day it is crucial to plan ahead and for different steps in the process in advance! Providing yourself with ample amount of time for each step of the project to be planned and installed seamlessly.
