Starting a new build or a renovation project can be very daunting!
When first starting a new project there are many different aspects and components to consider. One of the most important factors to think about is planning ahead! This is important as it will ensure that there is plenty of time to meet each and every deadline that will pop up.
Knowing and considering how every aspect of how a project ties together is important to take into account. You will need to think about what flooring you are planning to use in your home as it will dictate which type of wood species would be best to use on the stairs and railings. With flooring in mind it is important to note that it is best to install the stairs, nosings, and railings prior to the installation of any flooring.
One last factor to consider is that specific stair openings and layouts will allow and accommodate different styles of stairs, railings, or glass based on the design. It is important to assess your project and what may be possible early on in the design process. This will ensure that changes can be made if necessary.
As the industry continues to increasingly get busier each and every day it is crucial to plan ahead and for different steps in the process in advance! Providing yourself with ample amount of time for each step of the project to be planned and installed seamlessly.

We are currently looking for help in our custom shop. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, comfortable using woodworking equipment and has a positive attitude. Woodworking experience is an asset however we are willing to train the right individual. This is an entry level position, a great way to develop some high end woodworking skillz.

Leland & Brad have been working away for the last few days on this massive walnut table one of our customers had us do for them. This beast will finish in at 1-3/4" thick, 5'x15' in total size.
Here is the tubular steel base (designed by our customer) which will hold the walnut top.
This video is 1 of the 2 slabs being jointed. It took 4 guys to comfortably manipulate half of the table, we expect the laminated/completed table to weigh in around 600lbs (not including base).
Lean, mean, stair measuring machines. Big thanks to Ken Lovegrove @ Barrie Ford for taking care of us. We were treated like royalty and have 2 brand new beauty trucks. Honourable mentions to Mario Designs for making them look pretty - best vehicle graphic company in town.

Time flies when you're having fun! Today marks 1yr since both Dylan and I opened the doors here at Stairhaus. We are very fortunate to have amazing staff (10 in total) and the best customers in the game. We would not have made it this far without the help & support from our family and friends (our wives especially). We are very lucky to be overwhelmed with work and are looking forward to what 2016 brings us. We are investing in new equipment all the time and recently bought a straight truck to make our delivery & installs easier. Our new sanding beast has arrived (drum sander = 4000 lbs). It has dual heads with a finishing brush. It took a while to find the right machine for us - it's like Christmas here at the Haus!
This machine will help manufacturing timelines and our overall quality will be even better. Electrical hook-up today, dust collection hook-up tomorrow - we can't wait to fire this monster up!
